The stop-it max double-walled anti hornet plastic shield is simple and light. It will effectively keep hornets away from the hive entrance. It can be adapted to all hives. Only a few tools are required for installation. The stop-it max double-walled anti hornet plastic shield is an innovative, lightweight, transparent double barrier that fits all types of hives (except hives with a canopy). Hornets and any other predators are kept at bay as they cannot fly through the openings that are narrower than their wingspan. The holes in the outer section are oval and 4.5 x 2.5 cm, so that the bees do not have to slow down on their way back to the hive; the holes in the inner section are only 2.5 x 0.6 cm, so that the bees can get in and out without worrying, but they do form a real barrier to hornets which might have come through the outer wall. The gap between the two walls is maximum 2 cm, here too bees have plenty of room to move around, which is not the case for hornets. The hornet shield is made of UV-resistant plastic and is very easy to install: all you need is a stapler (or screwdriver) and a pair of scissors. It is delivered flat.
