Hop clover 500 g

The hop clover (Medicago lupulina) is a creeping perennial plant from the butterfly flower family (Leguminosae or Fabaceae). The hop clover grows on nutrient-rich soil in grass and arable land and along roads and dikes. It occurs naturally in Eurasia and Africa.

The stems are ascending and the plant becomes 5-50 cm high. The clover flowers in bunches with one to fifty 2-3 mm large, bright yellow flowers. The inflorescence looks like heads on long stems, longer than the leaf stems. The flowering period is from April to October.

The plant bears a kidney-shaped, single-seeded pod with a diameter of 2 mm.
